FAQs

Fly 45 is a beginner-friendly HIIT program consisting of 45 seconds of work followed by 15 seconds of rest, repeated for several rounds. It emphasizes lower-skill Metcons, making it accessible to all fitness levels. This workout targets cardiovascular fitness and endurance with running, rowing, cycling, jumping rope, and bodyweight exercises such as push-ups, squats, and lunges.

CrossFit training combines Olympic lifting, gymnastics movements, functional fitness, and high-intensity training, which is applied to a workout of the day, or WOD for short.

Every day, there is one workout that runs an hour long for each class. Each day, the workout consists of different aspects of Olympic/gymnastic/functional fitness/ HIITs.

The main perk of CrossFit is the community that works out together and socializes, having friends to chat with, competing in class workouts, or partnering up and having fun together.

A CrossFit class starts with a brief from the Coach regarding what to expect from that day’s work out; after the brief, the Coach takes the class through a general warmup for the specific movement they will go through that day. Once the warmup is done, the Coach leads the class through the Skills/Strength section of the workout before the class gets ready for the final conditioning piece. Once the workout is finished, the coach takes the class through a general cooldown by stretching or walking around the gym to catch some air.

There are a lot of misconceptions that you will become big or bulky by doing CrossFit. You must consider many different variables, like how many times you are training in a day and how many calories you’re burning compared to what you are eating. People who look up CrossFit and see those “Athletes” on Google don’t consider how many training sessions these athletes do in a day and how thorough they are with their diet to achieve the strength to lift heavy weight and move fast in a competitive environment. In other words, you won’t get big and bulky by doing CrossFit unless you dedicate a lot of time to living like those athletes.

CrossFit workouts are a hybrid of Weightlifting, Gymnastics, and Conditioning. They combine these different movements into one class of CrossFit.

Each day, the classes feature different workouts with a long-term progression for both strength and skills. You can choose which days to attend based on what aspect of CrossFit you want to focus on, allowing you to train, get stronger, and improve.

In CrossFit, workouts are a benchmark tool for testing your fitness level over the past year. They are mainly used to see how much faster you finished a workout or how much heavier you lifted compared to the last time you did the workout.

For example, the “Angie” workout consists of 100 pull-ups, 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, and 100 squats for time. This pure bodyweight exercise doesn’t require much technical CrossFit knowledge to do on your own.

“Diane” is another benchmark workout requiring gymnastics and weightlifting experience. It includes 21, 15, and 9 repetitions of handstand push-ups and deadlifts, weighing 100 kg for men and 70 kg for women.

CrossFit offers over 600 benchmark workouts. Depending on your experience level, you can choose basic to advanced workouts to test your skills.

CrossFit includes various movements to strengthen your chest beyond just bench presses. For example, CrossFit-style push-ups start in a high plank position, require your chest to touch the floor and keep your hips off the ground.

Another excellent chest exercise is the Parallettes/Ring Dips. These require a lot of coordination for your body to adapt to the movement while giving you a good workout.

Rich Froning has been training and competing for more than 12 years; his lifestyle is that of a CrossFit Athlete, which requires a lot of hard work to get to

To get in shape like Rich Froning, you need to be dedicated to the lifestyle of an Athlete, Training 2-3 times a day, have an immaculate diet, and getting great sleep each day to recover and repeating all those training sessions 5-6 times a week.

It’s possible but getting there requires a lot of hard work.

The Coach’s priority in CrossFit class is always helping people who are new to CrossFit understand what they can and can’t do.

Coaches design the workouts in CrossFit classes in a certain way to help each individual scale the movement down and get a good stimulus from the exercises at the end of the day.

High-intensity interval training, or HIITs, is part of CrossFit and can help reduce weight, but other facets need to be considered and not just focused on CrossFit to lose weight.

CrossFit or functional training, in general, helps you elevate your heart rate. This means that the more you exert in an exercise, the higher the spike in your heart rate will be, and the more calories you will burn.

On the other hand, if you eat more calories than you burn during a workout, you won’t make much of a difference. While doing CrossFit in conjunction, you need to eat a good source of food, hydrate well, and get a good amount of sleep because training alone would not solve the problem of losing weight.
