Performance Cheer, a category within cheerleading, encompasses various styles such as pom dance and jazz. Unlike traditional cheerleading, Performance Cheer excludes elements like tumblings, stunts, and tosses, focusing instead on precise movements like pirouettes, splits, high kicks, cheer jumps, and aerials. This discipline not only aligns with FHF’s commitment to safety but also fosters a vibrant and inclusive community atmosphere.

Now, let’s delve into the benefits of Performance Cheer. Beyond its physical demands, this sport cultivates valuable life skills such as teamwork, discipline, leadership, and confidence. Participants develop flexibility, coordination, and strength while honing their performance skills and enhancing their overall fitness levels.

An Interview with Dariia Korol: Leading the Cheer at Fly High Fitness

Hello, Dariia! We’re thrilled to have you here today to talk about the newest addition to Fly High Fitness: cheerleading. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your journey into the world of cheerleading?

Of course! Thank you for having me. My name is Dariia Korol, and I’m passionate about cheerleading. My journey began in Ukraine when I was 17 years old. I dedicated seven years to mastering the sport before bringing my expertise to Dubai. My dance journey began at the age of 6, and my entry into the world of cheerleading came later. However, the allure of this sport captivated me, prompting me to extend my journey within it. I pursued a coaching course accredited by the International Cheerleading Union, culminating in the attainment of my coaching credentials certificate. 

That’s impressive! What inspired you to introduce cheerleading to Dubai, and why Fly High Fitness?

Well, when I arrived in Dubai, I noticed a gap in the cheerleading scene. There weren’t many opportunities for kids or adults to participate in the sport. Fly High Fitness shares my passion for inclusivity and innovation, making it the perfect fit for introducing cheerleading to the community. 

Can you give us a glimpse into what a cheerleading class at Fly High Fitness looks like?

Absolutely! Our classes are dynamic and engaging, blending acrobatics with choreography. We cater to students of all ages, starting from four years old. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced cheerleader, there’s something for everyone. Plus, with options for one, two, or three sessions per week, you can tailor your training to fit your schedule.
